There Will Be Static is the debut release from Sydney chanteuse Lauren Horton.
Recorded with producer Tony Dupe (Holly Throsby, Jack Ladder, Saddleback) in his picturesque rural studio, Kangaroo Valley, NSW, There Will Be Static draws influences from jazz, french-pop, lounge and folk genres.
Filled with infectious melodies, syncopated beats and sparse instrumentation, Lauren possesses a delicate, quirky vocal style and peppers There Will Be Static with poetic lyrics focused on themes of love, life and learning.
With her unique vocal delivery and sassy stage presence, Lauren receives regular airplay on Sydney community radio stations 2SER and FBi, and has earned a reputation for arresting live shows. In addition to her Sydney shows, Lauren has also supported Mick Turner (The Dirty Three), Jack Ladder, Fergus Brown, Lilith Lane and The Paper Scissors.
